Exploring the impact of science on our lives and society

Frontinus Research Institute – Research and innovation for a better tomorrow

Frontinus Research Institute (FRI) is an independent, interdisciplinary research foundation operating at the intersection of science, technology, and society.

We were established out of a need to understand the dynamic changes taking place in the world around us.
Our goal is to support informed decision-making — by individuals, public institutions, and private organisations alike. Through research, education, and collaboration, we aim to foster a society capable of reflection, adaptation, and action in a reality shaped by technology.
FRI works in partnership with universities, public institutions, the NGO sector, and business. We believe that only through the exchange of knowledge and experience across different communities can we create real value and lasting social impact.

A brief history of the Frontinus Research Institute

Frontinus Research Institute was founded by a group of young experts from diverse fields who had previously worked with NGOs and academic institutions. The inspiration behind the foundation was the desire to create an independent space for conducting research on the societal impact of technology and to build a well-informed and conscious public. Since its inception, FRI has carried out a number of research projects whose results have contributed to shaping public policy and innovation strategies across various sectors.

Our Mission and Vision

Through reliable research and active civic engagement, we aim to equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate an increasingly complex and dynamic world.

Our ambition is to become a leading centre for the analysis and dissemination of emerging technologies — supporting a human-centred digital transformation built on knowledge, responsibility, and innovation.
